The XV1100 enlarged the Virago V-twin to 1063 cc, succeeding the XV1000 in 1986, and kept shaft drive and the dual-shock cruiser layout. It was a relaxed, torque-rich big cruiser that stayed in the range through the 1990s until the V-Star/Road Star models replaced it.
